Im on a little bit of a holiday to start off the New Year (or end the old as i celebrated the New Years somewhere over Baghdad). So I hereby present one of the icons of the emirate I am in. Some hard to find pics elsewhere as you are only allowed inside if you have a hotel reservation or if you have paid in advance with your creditcard for one of the services... ladies and gents, the selfclaimed seven star hotel Burj Al Arab.

It's the day before the day here!

Here in Sweden we celebrate Xmas on the 24th of December, this means that today is the day before THE DAY! 

Traditionally this is the day when peeps way back when decorated the Christmas tree, prepared the Christmas food, the Christmas sweets, the whole house(!) after their miniature peeps had gone to bed, just so that kids all over Sweden could wake up tomorrow in a world full of Christmas.

In this house I am the kid aaaaaand i usually head to bed after my mum so we prepare everything together and then I sneak presents under the tree when my mum has gone to bed. But the Christmas tree is under no circumstances ever in this house before the evening before THE DAY, so the photograph below is a tree from way back when that i found. // M.J

Shadow Effect

    Everyone. Everything, has a shadow.

Think about it, as long as there is sun, never mind the sun, as long as there is some kind of light source we all have shadows. The Christmas tree that you’re planning to timber. The lion staking out its pray of the day. The leaf that falls from that yellow tree in your backyard. The person standing next to you and the person walking by. A shadow is on of those things that we can’t avoid, I mean, it is always there! It is your twin, a copy of yourself that is as black as night or as translucent as a cartoon ghost.

    Depending on where the light hits you, your shadow can make you taller, shorter, thinner, bigger, the very proportions that makes you YOU, is altered. Meet my shadow…
